Our history
Busy Season Staffing Solutions is a Puerto Rico–based human resources and talent acquisition firm serving Fortune 500 companies, international accounting firms, and leading local organizations in a complex and highly competitive market. Founded in 2015 by a Certified Public Accountant with experience serving Big Four and multinational organizations, the firm specializes in recruiting accounting, finance, administrative, and related professional roles, supporting CPA firms and companies across multiple industries in addressing evolving hiring needs.
Known for its high-touch, relationship-driven approach, Busy Season combines deep market knowledge with thoughtful candidate evaluation to help organizations identify, attract, and secure high-performing talent. The firm focuses on delivering consistent, quality placements while building long-term professional partnerships with its clients.
Busy Season is a proud member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), The Chamber of Commerce, The Puerto Rico Industrial Association, and the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants. Its executive leadership holds CPA, CFE, and CGMA certifications and maintains affiliations with leading professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and SHRM. Nelson A. Colón Torres, CPA, CGMA
Managing Director
With more than 20 years of combined experience in accounting, consulting, recruiting, and human resources, Nelson brings a career shaped by Big Four firms, multinational corporations, and regulatory environments. A Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant, he understands the profession, not just the position. Nelson has been a speaker on talent acquisition and workforce strategy for leading professional organizations in Puerto Rico and is a member of the Forbes Human Resources Council.
Mariana Chalas González, CPA
Executive Search Director
Mariana brings more than 15 years of specialized experience in public accounting and recruiting across Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. A Certified Public Accountant with Big Four experience, she later held a management role at a multinational recruiting organization, building expertise across pharmaceutical, manufacturing, insurance, and other industries. She manages client relations, executive search, and direct placement at all levels, combining deep knowledge of the profession with a relationship driven approach to talent acquisition.
